Itinerary

Day 1 — Ancient Kingdoms and Legends

  1. Start Morning

    Departure from Tbilisi

Today we leave the busy rhythm of the capital behind and begin a fascinating journey through the ancient heart of Georgia. This day combines breathtaking landscapes, medieval monasteries, Soviet history, and one of the oldest cave cities in the world. From hilltop churches overlooking rivers to mysterious rock-hewn tunnels carved deep into the mountains, today offers a beautiful introduction to Georgia’s rich and dramatic past.

  2. Stop

    Chronicle of Georgia

Our first destination is the magnificent Chronicle of Georgia, often called the “Georgian Stonehenge.” Massive stone pillars rise high above the hills overlooking the Tbilisi Sea, telling the story of Georgian kings, heroes, saints, and biblical scenes through monumental carvings. The peaceful atmosphere and panoramic views over the city create a powerful first impression of Georgia’s deep history and proud spirit.

  3. Stop

    Jvari Monastery

Next, we travel to the legendary Jvari Monastery, one of the most important religious monuments in the country. Standing proudly on top of a hill, this 6th-century monastery overlooks the magical meeting point of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers. The peaceful surroundings, ancient stone walls, and incredible panoramic views make this place truly unforgettable. It is easy to understand why this sacred location inspired poets, travelers, and pilgrims for centuries.

  4. Stop

    Gori Stalin Museum

We continue toward the city of Gori, the birthplace of Joseph Stalin. Here we will visit the Stalin Museum, a fascinating glimpse into Soviet history. Inside, you can explore personal belongings, historical photographs, Stalin’s private railway carriage, and exhibits showing life during the Soviet era. Whether you are interested in politics, history, or simply curious about Georgia’s complex past, this stop offers a unique and thought-provoking experience.

  5. Optional Afternoon

    Lunch in Gori

Before continuing our adventure, we can stop at a local restaurant in Gori to enjoy authentic Georgian cuisine. Fresh salads, grilled meat, homemade bread, and traditional regional dishes make for the perfect relaxing break during the journey.

  6. Stop

    Uplistsikhe Cave Town

Our final destination for the day is the incredible Uplistsikhe Cave Town, one of the oldest settlements in Georgia. Carved directly into the rocky cliffs more than 3,000 years ago, this ancient city once stood along the famous Silk Road. As we walk through tunnels, ancient halls, wine celars, and hidden chambers, you will feel transported into another world. The dramatic landscape surrounding the caves, combined with the silence of this ancient place, creates a truly magical atmosphere.

  7. End Evening
