Description

A comprehensive 3-day journey through Georgia's historic cave cities, hidden natural canyons, and the majestic Caucasus Mountains.

Itinerary

Day 1 — Ancient Kingdoms, Soviet History & the Mysterious Cave City

  1. Start Morning

    Departure from Tbilisi

Your adventure begins with a fascinating journey across the different chapters of Georgian history — from ancient monasteries and medieval kingdoms to Soviet heritage and one of the oldest cave settlements in the Caucasus. Today combines culture, history, breathtaking landscapes, and unforgettable stories that reveal the deep roots of this remarkable country.

  2. Stop

    Chronicle of Georgia

Our first destination is the monumental Chronicle of Georgia, an impressive masterpiece often called the “Georgian Stonehenge.” Massive carved pillars rise dramatically above the hills overlooking the Tbilisi Sea, depicting scenes from Georgian history, religion, and royal dynasties. The scale of the monument, combined with panoramic views over the city and surrounding landscapes, creates a truly cinematic atmosphere and an unforgettable introduction to Georgia.

  3. Stop

    Jvari Monastery

Next, we continue to the legendary Jvari Monastery, one of the country’s most sacred and historically important monasteries. Built in the 6th century and protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Jvari stands high above the meeting point of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers. The peaceful atmosphere, ancient stone walls, and breathtaking mountain views make this place one of the spiritual highlights of Georgia.

  4. Stop

    Gori & the Stalin Museum

We then travel to the city of Gori, the birthplace of Joseph Stalin. At the famous Stalin Museum, you will discover fascinating exhibits dedicated to Soviet history, Stalin’s personal belongings, historical archives, and even his original armored train carriage. The museum offers a rare opportunity to explore one of the most influential and controversial periods of the 20th century.

  5. Optional

    Traditional Lunch in Gori

You may choose to enjoy lunch at a local Georgian restaurant, where traditional dishes, homemade bread, grilled specialties, and authentic hospitality create the perfect relaxing break during the journey.

  6. Stop

    Uplistsikhe Cave Town

Our adventure continues to the extraordinary Uplistsikhe, an ancient cave city carved directly into giant rock formations more than 3,000 years ago. Once an important stop along the Silk Road, Uplistsikhe still preserves ancient tunnels, halls, pagan temples, wine cellars, and secret passageways. Walking through this mysterious rocky settlement feels like stepping into a forgotten world suspended between history and legend.

  7. End Evening

    Return to Tbilisi

After a day filled with ancient culture, fascinating history, and unforgettable landscapes, we return to Tbilisi for a relaxing overnight stay in the capital.

Day 2 — Hidden Valleys, Canyon Landscapes & the Diamond Bridge

  1. Start Morning

    Travel to Southern Georgia

Today we leave the city behind and travel toward the wild and scenic landscapes of southern Georgia. Peaceful valleys, volcanic plateaus, dramatic canyons, and breathtaking viewpoints await us throughout the journey. This day is perfect for travelers who want to experience Georgia’s hidden natural beauty far from the usual tourist crowds.

  2. Stop

    Didgori Valley

Our first stop is the peaceful Didgori Valley, surrounded by rolling green hills, fresh mountain air, and wide open landscapes. Besides its natural beauty, this area is deeply connected to Georgian history as the site of the legendary Battle of Didgori — one of the country’s greatest victories. The calm atmosphere and panoramic scenery create the perfect start to today’s adventure.

  3. Stop

    Tsalka City

We continue toward the small mountain town of Tsalka, known for its beautiful landscapes, volcanic nature, and peaceful atmosphere. Surrounded by lakes, valleys, and open countryside, this region offers a completely different side of Georgia — quiet, authentic, and naturally stunning.

  4. Optional

    Lunch in Tsalka

You may choose to stop for lunch in Tsalka and enjoy traditional Georgian cuisine while relaxing in the peaceful mountain surroundings.

  5. Stop

Tsalka Canyon & the Diamond Bridge

The highlight of the day is the breathtaking Dashbashi Canyon and its spectacular Diamond Bridge. Hidden deep within dramatic volcanic landscapes, the canyon is filled with lush greenery, waterfalls, steep cliffs, and crystal-clear river streams flowing below. Suspended high above the canyon, the modern glass Diamond Bridge offers stunning panoramic views and an unforgettable adrenaline-filled experience. At the center of the bridge sits the famous diamond-shaped glass platform, creating one of the most unique viewpoints in all of Georgia.

  6. End Evening

    Return to Tbilisi

After a beautiful day surrounded by valleys, canyons, and unforgettable scenery, we comfortably return to Tbilisi for another overnight stay in the capital.

Day 3 — The Great Caucasus Mountains Adventure

  1. Start Morning

    Georgian Military Highway

Today we travel north into the breathtaking Caucasus Mountains along the famous Georgian Military Highway — one of the most scenic mountain roads in the world. Throughout the day, dramatic landscapes, medieval fortresses, alpine rivers, and panoramic mountain views accompany us on this unforgettable journey.

  2. Stop

    Jinvali Reservoir

Our first stop is the stunning Jinvali Reservoir, famous for its crystal-blue waters surrounded by green mountains. This peaceful location offers incredible photo opportunities and marks the perfect beginning to our mountain adventure.

  3. Stop

    Ananuri Fortress

Next, we visit the historic Ananuri Fortress, a beautiful medieval castle complex overlooking the reservoir. Ancient towers, stone churches, and dramatic mountain scenery make this one of the most iconic and photogenic landmarks in Georgia.

  4. Optional

    Mountain Adventures

For travelers seeking excitement, today offers optional activities including white-water rafting, ATV and buggy rides across rugged mountain trails, and paragliding high above the valleys of Gudauri with breathtaking views of the Caucasus.

  5. Stop

    Gudauri Panorama

High in the mountains, we stop at the spectacular Gudauri Panorama, also known as the Friendship Monument. Built dramatically on the edge of a cliff, this viewpoint offers jaw-dropping panoramas of deep valleys, rivers, and endless mountain ranges.

  6. Optional

    Lunch in Kazbegi

You may choose to stop for lunch surrounded by the giant peaks of the Caucasus while enjoying traditional mountain cuisine and fresh alpine air in Kazbegi.

  7. Stop

    Gergeti Trinity Church

The final highlight of the journey is the legendary Gergeti Trinity Church, standing proudly beneath the towering Mount Kazbek at 2,170 meters above sea level. Surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery and drifting clouds, Gergeti is one of the most breathtaking and spiritual places in Georgia — a destination that leaves every traveler speechless.

  8. End Evening
