4-Day Georgia Discovery: Wine, Mountains & History

Day 1 — Day 1: Kakheti Wine Region

1. Start · Morning Ujarma Fortress

   From the morning we start exploring Kakheti region well known for its wine producing. We enjoy superb views of Great Caucasus Mountains and valleys of Kakheti, acknowledge traditions and culture of the country and region, taste wines and delicious food. First we drive to visit a Ujarma fortress.

2. Midday Telavi City

   We will see city Telavi (one of the biggest and oldest city in Kakheti), there we will see Royal castle of King Erekle II, Plane tree which is more than 900 years old.

3. Afternoon Winery Visit

   After visiting the royal castle and the ancient plane tree, we will have a chance to taste Georgian wine, in a winery.

4. End · Evening Signaghi & Overnight

   Than we will drive to see city of love Signaghi, transfer to the hotel, Overnight in Kakheti.

Day 2 — Day 2: Mtskheta, Gori & Uplistsikhe

1. Start · Morning Mtskheta Religious Sites

   From the morning we will visit the ancient capital and religious center of Georgia – Mtskheta and see its historical places: Jvari Monastery (6th century) and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century) where the Robe of Christ is buried. Both Jvari and Svetitskhoveli are UNESCO World Heritage sites.

2. Afternoon Uplistsikhe Cave Town

   Drive along the Great Silk Road to the town of Gori. Near Gori will visit Uplistsikhe Cave Town (1st millennium BC) – one of the main points on the great east-west trade route. Once a flourishing city now offers a walk among the ancient streets, rock-carved theatre, royal halls and pharmacy, while the remains of granaries and large clay wine vessels give us some clue as to the daily life of the inhabitants.

3. End · Evening Return to Tbilisi

   After exploring the cave city, we will go back to Tbilisi, Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 3 — Day 3: Kazbegi & Gudauri

1. Start · Morning Scenic Route to Kazbegi

   A stunning drive from Tbilisi to Kazbegi along the river Tergi, on the way first I will show you, Jinvali dump, then we will see Ananuri fortress, after this we will stop in Gudauri and we will arrive in Stepantsminda – the main town in the region.

2. End · Afternoon/Evening Gergeti Trinity Church

   From there we will drive up to Gergeti Trinity Church located at 2175 m. Weather permitting you may catch a glimpse of one of the highest glaciers in the Caucasus – Mt. Kazbegi (5047 m). Overnight in Kazbegi.

Day 4 — Day 4: Dariali & Juta

1. Start · Morning Dariali & Gveleti

   From the morning we will drive to Dariali ravine, we will drive up to village Gveleti, will see there Gveleti waterfall.

2. End · Afternoon Juta & Return to Tbilisi

   Afterwards we will go to Juta ravine, with its amazing views will try food there we will see sightseeing and in the late afternoon drive to Tbilisi, Overnight in Tbilisi.
