2 Days in Kakheti

Our first stop is the Gombori Pass. It is 1,620 meters high. The road is very beautiful with great views of the mountains and green forests. We will stop here to take photos, breathe the fresh air, and enjoy the nature. It is a perfect start for our 2-day trip!

Next, we visit Old Shuamta. This ancient monastery is hidden in a beautiful forest. It is very peaceful and quiet. It looks amazing, especially in autumn when the leaves fall and the colors change. It is one of the most beautiful places in Kakheti. You will love the old stone church and the golden nature around it.

Next, we go to Telavi, the heart of Kakheti. It is a beautiful city with a lot of history. Here, we will see the famous 900-year-old Giant Plane Tree. It is huge and very old! Everyone loves to take photos with this tree. It is a symbol of the city and a great place to feel the local life.

Next, we visit the beautiful Tsinandali Estate. This was the palace of the famous Prince Alexander Chavchavadze. You can walk through a stunning garden with exotic plants and see one of the oldest wine cellars in Georgia. It is a very elegant place where history meets nature. You will enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, see the royal rooms, and learn about the high life of the 19th century.

After Telavi, we visit Shumi Winery. This is a special place for wine lovers. You can see a beautiful vineyard and a garden with many types of grapes. We will taste delicious Georgian wine and learn about their traditions. It is a great place to relax, enjoy the wine, and see the beauty of the "birthplace of win

Our final stop is the majestic Alaverdi Cathedral. It is one of the tallest and most beautiful churches in Georgia. Built in the 11th century, it stands in the middle of the valley with a great view of the mountains. It is a very peaceful and holy place. You can walk around the ancient walls and see the old vineyards. It is the perfect way to end our day!

Our first stop is the amazing Gremi Complex. It is a beautiful royal castle and church from the 16th century. It stands high on a hill and looks like something from a fairy tale. You can climb up the tower to see the incredible views of the Alazani Valley. It is a great place to take photos, learn about Georgian kings, and feel the history of this old royal city.

Next, we visit Ilia’s Lake, a beautiful and calm place surrounded by green mountains. It is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the fresh air. You can take a slow walk around the lake, enjoy the peaceful nature, and see the beauty of the Caucasus Mountains reflecting in the water. It is a wonderful place to take a break and enjoy the quiet side of Kakheti.

Next, we visit the unique Khareba Winery, famous for its incredible wine tunnel cut into the Caucasus Mountains. It is one of the coolest places in Georgia! Inside the long, chilly tunnels, you will see thousands of bottles of wine aging perfectly. We will take a walk inside, learn about their special wine-making methods, and enjoy a tasting. It is a one-of-a-kind experience you won't forget!

Our next stop is Sighnaghi, one of the most beautiful small towns in Georgia, also known as the “City of Love. Here you will walk along the old city walls, where you can enjoy amazing panoramic views over the Alazani Valley and the Caucasus Mountains. The walls are one of the longest in Georgia and give Sighnaghi a unique historical charm. You will also stroll through narrow, cobblestone streets, full of colorful houses, balconies, and a cozy atmosphere. It is a perfect place to feel the real spirit of old Georgian towns, take beautiful photos, and enjoy a relaxed walk. Sighnaghi is a place where history, romance, and incredible views come together.

This is where Saint Nino, the woman who brought Christianity to Georgia, is buried. Because of this, Bodbe is a very special and sacred place for Christians. The monastery is surrounded by beautiful nature and peaceful views, making it not only spiritually important but also one of the most beautiful locations in Kakheti. Here you can enjoy a calm atmosphere, learn a bit of Georgian history, and take in the amazing scenery.

Our final stop is a traditional family winery Kakabeti Estate, located in the village of Kakabeti. Here you will see the real Georgian way of winemaking, including the ancient qvevri (clay vessel) fermentation process, which has been used for thousands of years. You will learn how wine is made in a traditional and natural way, right inside the cellar. The atmosphere is very warm and family-friendly, giving you a true feeling of Georgian hospitality. It is a peaceful and authentic place where wine, tradition, and family life come together. A perfect final stop to end the day with great wine, good energy, and unforgettable memories.
