3 - Day tour around kazbegi ( Juta, truso valley, gvelleti waterfalls)

Chronicle of Georgia is the first stop of our tour before leaving Tbilisi. This impressive monument is located on a hill overlooking the city and the Tbilisi Sea. Zhinvali Water Reservoir is the next stop on the way to Kazbegi. It is the second largest water reservoir in Georgia, built in the 1980s. here you will enjoy amazing views of turquoise water surrounded by green mountains , a perfect place for photos and a short relaxing break. There is a small local market where you can find handmade souvenirs made by local people. It’s a good chance to take something authentic from your trip at a reasonable price.

Just a short 15-minute drive from Zhinvali, we reach the Ananuri Fortress. This is a place where you can truly feel Georgia’s deep history. Explore the ancient stone walls and towers while enjoying the beautiful view over the lake. It is a perfect spot to see how nature and history live together.

Our next stop is Gudauri, located on the famous Jvari Pass at 2,395 meters above sea level, one of the highest points of the Georgian Military Highway. Here you will feel like you are standing in the heart of the Caucasus Mountains, surrounded by endless peaks and fresh mountain air. We will also visit the Georgia and Russia Friendship Monument, a colorful mosaic structure built on a cliff. It symbolizes friendship and history, and offers one of the most dramatic panoramic views in Georgia. This stop is all about the power of nature, huge landscapes, and unforgettable mountain views.

Gergeti Trinity Church is beautiful in every season. It sits at 2,170 meters above sea level. From here, you can see a perfect view of Mount Mkinvartsveri(also known as Kazbegi), which is 5,054 meters high. You will also see a great panorama of the whole Kazbegi area. It is a wonderful place for photos!

Our journey begins in the Sno Valley, a place known for its untouched nature and quiet charm. Our first stop will be the village of Sno, where you can admire the famous giant stone heads carved by a local artist, these impressive statues represent important figures from Georgian history and look amazing against the mountain backdrop. It is a perfect spot for peaceful photos and to feel the calm energy of the mountains before we continue our adventure.

After Sno, we start an exciting off-road drive through a beautiful and wild valley. This scenic route takes us deep into the mountains until we reach the charming village of Juta. It is one of the highest and most peaceful villages in Georgia, surrounded by green meadows and giant peaks. The journey to Juta is a real adventure with amazing views at every turn, making it the perfect place to feel the wild nature of the Caucasus.

The hike starts right from the village of Juta and leads us toward the majestic Chaukhi Mountains and the beautiful mountain lake. At a slow pace, the walk takes about 1.5 hours to reach the lake. Please note that this is not an easy walk, as the path goes uphill and requires some effort. Halfway there, we will find the famous "Fifth Season" cafe, where you can take a break, enjoy a coffee, and relax with amazing mountain views. If you find the climb too difficult or just want a more comfortable journey, you have the option to rent a horse. This is a great way to reach the lake easily and enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the glacier and the giant peaks without getting tired. The view of the lake waiting for you at the top is truly unforgettable.

Our first stop of the day is Gveleti Waterfalls. To get there, we first drive through the beautiful Dariali Gorge, surrounded by tall mountains and wild nature. Then we continue with a short off-road drive along the river, enjoying amazing scenery on the way. After that, we take a light hike to reach the waterfalls. At Gveleti, you will see a peaceful hidden place in nature, where you can relax, enjoy the fresh air, and even have a nice coffee right next to the waterfall.

After Gveleti, we go to Truso Valley, one of the most beautiful and wild places in Kazbegi. We drive off-road through mountains, rivers, and old stone villages. Then we take a short and easy hike to explore the valley. Here we will see the Bottomless Lake, a very special place where natural gas comes up from the water. The colors are unique and the place feels quiet, strange, and very beautiful at the same time.

After our mountain adventure, we start driving back from the highlands to Tbilisi. On the way, we stop in Mtskheta, one of the oldest cities in Georgia and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here we visit the beautiful Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, an important spiritual and historical place for Georgians. This cathedral is full of history and peace. Walking inside, you will feel the deep culture and traditions of Georgia. We will walk through the charming old streets of Mtskheta, where you can taste traditional sweets and enjoy some local shopping from small handmade shops.
