Western Prone River
The Western Prone (Dasavletis Prone) is a significant river in the Shida Kartli region of Georgia. It originates on the southern slopes of the Likhi Range and flows southwards to join the Kura (Mtkvari) River. The river valley is known for its agricultural importance, providing irrigation for the fertile lands of the region. Historically, the Prone valley has been a populated area with numerous villages and historical sites along its banks. The river's flow is primarily fed by snowmelt, rain, and groundwater. During the spring, the water levels can rise significantly, while in late summer, it may become quite shallow. The Western Prone, along with the Eastern and Middle Prone rivers, forms an important part of the hydrological system of central Georgia.
