Suramula River
The Suramula River is a notable waterway in the Shida Kartli region of central Georgia. It flows prominently through the town of Surami, a well-known climatic resort situated at the foot of the Likhi Range. The river adds to the picturesque setting of the town, which is famous for its historical Surami Fortress and its pine forests that provide therapeutic air. The Suramula River valley has been a significant transit route for centuries, connecting eastern and western Georgia. Today, the riverbanks in and around Surami offer pleasant spots for relaxation, walking, and enjoying the local specialty, 'Nazuki' (a sweet, spiced bread), which is traditionally baked and sold along the nearby highway.
