Snostsqali River

The Snostsqali River is a picturesque mountain river located in the Kazbegi municipality of northeastern Georgia. It flows through the stunning Sno Valley, a popular destination for hikers and nature lovers. The river is fed by the glaciers and snowmelts of the surrounding Greater Caucasus peaks, including the imposing Mount Chaukhi. The valley itself is dotted with traditional Georgian villages, such as Sno and Juta, and features lush alpine meadows, ancient watchtowers, and dramatic mountain backdrops. Following the Snostsqali River upstream towards Juta provides one of the most rewarding and scenic trekking routes in the region, offering an immersive experience in the wild beauty of the high Caucasus.
