Gudamakari Aragvi
The Gudamakari Aragvi (also known as the Black Aragvi) is a spectacular mountain river in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region of eastern Georgia. It is one of the main tributaries that form the Aragvi River. Originating on the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus, it flows through the rugged and historically rich Gudamakari Gorge. The river is characterized by its dark, fast-flowing waters, rocky bed, and the steep, forested mountains that rise dramatically on either side. The gorge is dotted with ancient villages, defensive towers, and shrines, reflecting the deep cultural heritage of the Georgian highlanders. The Gudamakari Aragvi is a popular destination for adventurous travelers, offering excellent opportunities for hiking, camping, and experiencing the untamed beauty and rich history of the Caucasus Mountains.
