Egristskali River
The Egristskali River flows through the Samegrelo region of western Georgia. Its name is deeply connected to the historical region of Egrisi (Colchis). The river traverses a varied landscape, from hilly terrains down to the Colchian lowlands. It plays a role in the local agricultural practices, providing irrigation for the fertile lands of Samegrelo. The riverbanks are often lined with lush vegetation, typical of the region's humid subtropical climate. Historically, rivers in this area were vital for transport and trade. Today, the Egristskali is appreciated for its natural beauty and the peaceful environment it creates as it winds its way towards the Black Sea basin.
