Gvidake

Gvidake is a small, traditional settlement situated in the Mtiuleti region of the Dusheti Municipality. It serves as a representative example of mountain village life in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, characterized by a reliance on the rugged terrain and proximity to the Aragvi river system.

Geography and Landscape

Positioned at an elevation of 1120 meters, Gvidake occupies a position on the left bank of the Tetri Aragvi river. The village is set against the backdrop of the southern slopes of the Mtiuleti Ridge.

• Terrain: The area consists of steep inclines and high-altitude meadows. These slopes define the layout of the village, with homes built to adapt to the variable gradient of the valley.

Historically, Gvidake functioned as a component of the Kvesheti community (temi), which served as the primary social and administrative unit in this part of the Aragvi valley.
