History and Heritage
The village's name, "Gomi," historically refers to a winter shelter for livestock. Gomi has been mentioned in historical records since the 18th century. One of its most significant landmarks is the 16th-century St. George Church. In the late 19th century, the village was famous for its skilled beekeepers and a unique honey-based spirit known as "Santhlis Araki" (Candle Vodka).
