Gogoleti is situated in the Ambrolauri Municipality, nestled on the right bank of the Shareula River. Located at an elevation of 579 meters, the village is surrounded by the lush greenery of the Racha mountains. The surrounding Shareula River valley is famous for its dramatic canyons, waterfalls, and karst formations, making it a paradise for nature enthusiasts.
History and Architectural Heritage
With a history spanning over 250 years, Gogoleti is often described as an open-air museum. The village is renowned for its well-preserved 19th-century "Colchis Oda" houses. These traditional wooden structures are unique for:
