It is conveniently located along the highway connecting Bolnisi and Dmanisi, roughly 11 kilometers from the municipal center of Bolnisi. The surrounding landscape is characterized by the rolling hills and fertile valleys typical of the region.

History and Name

The village has a long history, reflected in its changing names. Historically known as Abdalo, it was officially renamed Javshanianti in the early 1990s as part of a broader effort to restore traditional Georgian toponyms in the region. The name "Abdalo" is thought to have historical Turkic influences, while "Javshanianti" connects the village to its Georgian heritage. The area has been inhabited for centuries, serving as a strategic point in the Mashavera valley.

While the village itself is a quiet residential settlement, its most prominent neighbor is the medieval Kveshi Fortress. Perched on a dramatic rocky outcrop, the fortress overlooks Abdalo and provides a stunning backdrop to the village.
