Fkhundavi is a village in the Dusheti Municipality, Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, situated on the right bank of the Arkala River at an elevation of 1040 meters. Accessible via the secondary road network branching from the main highway leading toward the high mountains, the village serves as a quiet connection point within the Ananuri community. It lies approximately 25 kilometers from the administrative center of Dusheti. The village is considered to have been established during the late feudal period. Historical records link its name to the Old Georgian term "Khundi," referring to the young of a bird. Throughout the era of the Aragvi Duchy, Fkhundavi functioned within the broader defensive and agricultural network supporting the major stronghold at Ananuri. While the village remains small in scale, its history is tied to the strategic administrative and military developments of the Aragvi valley.
