Ferma

Geography and Nature

Ferma is located on the Shida Kartli plain within the Kaspi Municipality. The village is nestled on the right bank of the Ksani River, at an altitude of approximately 600 meters above sea level. It is situated about 22 kilometers from the municipal center of Kaspi. The local landscape is characterized by fertile agricultural land and the lush vegetation typical of the riverbanks in central Georgia. The area offers scenic views of the Greater Caucasus to the north and the Trialeti Range to the south.

History and Administration

Administratively, Ferma is part of the Okami community (temi). The name "Ferma" (meaning "Farm") likely originates from the agricultural focus of the settlement, specifically livestock farms that were established in the area. While the village itself is a more modern settlement compared to some of the ancient sites in the region, it is situated in a territory with a rich historical background dating back centuries.
