Located in the Khashuri Municipality at an elevation of 1,080 meters, Didi Tkhilnara (historically known as Didi Tkhinala) is now an abandoned village. It is spread across the northern slopes of the Qeleti Ridge, on the watershed of the Mtkvari and Dzama rivers. Although the village is now devoid of permanent residents, its environment and historical remains leave an indelible impression on visitors.

Historical and Spiritual Traces

The village's past is rich and interesting, as evidenced by the remaining monuments:

• Church of the Mother of God: Located in the village cemetery, this temple is the main witness to the village's spiritual life. It still stands today as a symbol of past glory.
• Demographic History: In the 19th century, the village was quite populous. It was primarily inhabited by an Ossetian population who left the village in the early 1990s.
