Davberi

Davberi is one of the highest and most mystical villages of Svaneti in the Mestia municipality, located in the Kala community, in the upper reaches of the Enguri valley.

Davberi — Svan Tranquility on the Slopes of the Caucasus

Davberi is one of the most distinguished and highland villages in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, Mestia municipality. It is located at an elevation of 1840 meters above sea level, in the Kala community. The village is built on the right side of the Enguri River, from where beautiful panoramas of the Svaneti Caucasus unfold.

Geography and Natural Environment

Davberi is distinguished by its harsh but majestic alpine nature. The climate here is typical highland — with long, snowy winters and cool, healthy summers. The village is 42 kilometers from Mestia, making it sufficiently isolated and authentic for those seeking to be face to face with nature. The upper reaches of the Enguri valley give the village a special mysticism.

Svan Way of Life and Traditions

Today, only a few people live in the village (12 according to the census), giving it a special peace and coziness. The people of Davberi are of firm character, faithfully maintaining Svan traditions and way of life. Life here is closely linked to livestock farming. Every corner and ruin of the village preserves a centuries-old history, taking travelers on a journey into the past.

Highlights:
