Damchkhreula is a historical village in the Shida Kartli region, Khashuri municipality. It is located at an elevation of 700 meters above sea level and belongs to the Tskhramukha administrative unit. Although the village is deserted today, its name and history occupy an important place in the region's past.

Historical Past

In historical sources, the village is mentioned by the name "Damchkheralo." It was part of the historical Satsitsiano. At the beginning of the 19th century, the village was resettled by families from Imereti, who brought new life here. According to 1886 data, 186 people lived in the village, which was a significant figure for that time.

Geography and Today

Damchkhreula is built on terrain characteristic of Shida Kartli, where nature and history merge. The village is deserted today — according to the 2002 and 2014 censuses, no permanent population was recorded here. However, the village surroundings still retain their natural charm and tranquility, making it interesting for travelers interested in history and abandoned places.
