Dablatsikhe is a village in the Guria region, Chokhatauri municipality. It is the center of the Dablatsikhe community and is located at an elevation of 220 meters above sea level, on the right side of the Supsa River, on the southern slope of the Guria Range. The village holds special cultural significance as the Niko Marr House-Museum, dedicated to the world-renowned scientist, is located here.

History and Archaeology

Dablatsikhe is a historical settlement where traces of human presence have been recorded since ancient times. A Colchian axe dating back to the end of the 2nd millennium BC – beginning of the 1st millennium BC was found in the village, indicating early development in this territory. The Church of St. George stands in the village, serving as the center of spiritual life for the local population.

Dablatsikhe is built on a beautiful foothill landscape, where the green nature characteristic of Guria and the Supsa River valley create a harmonious environment. The village is only 4 kilometers from Chokhatauri. Life here is closely linked to the land and traditional farming. Approximately 280 people live in the village, faithfully maintaining Gurian traditions and hospitality.
