Chorchana — A Symbol of Resilience in the Lopanis-tskali Valley

Chorchana is a village in the Shida Kartli region, Khashuri municipality. It belongs to the Tsaghvli community and is located at an elevation of 900 meters above sea level, on the right side of the Lopanis-tskali River. The village has come into special focus in recent years due to its strategic location and resilience.

Geography and Nature

Chorchana is built on mountainous terrain, presenting the nature of the border between Shida Kartli and Imereti. The landscape here is rich in forests and valleys, giving the village a special coziness. The air is fresh and healthy. The village is 33 kilometers from Khashuri, making it sufficiently isolated.

Today, approximately 60 people live in the village. The people of Chorchana are hardworking and strong-willed, faithfully maintaining their homesteads. Agriculture, especially livestock farming and crop production, is the main part of life here. Chorchana has historically always been an important point in the region, which also determines its current significance.
