Chometi is a village located in the Chokhatauri municipality of the Guria region. It belongs to the Sachamiaseri community and is built at an elevation of 280 meters above sea level. The village is distinguished by its rich history and typical Gurian landscape, giving it special cultural importance.

Archaeological Discoveries and the Past

Chometi is known throughout Georgia for its archaeological significance. In 1928, a hoard of Colchian triobols dating back to the 5th-4th centuries BC was discovered near the village, containing 380 silver coins and other items. This discovery proves that this territory was an important commercial and economic center as early as antiquity. The history of the village is closely linked to Guria's past.

Chometi is spread across a plain-hilly relief, where the green environment characteristic of Guria is presented. The local soil is favorable for viticulture and fruit growing, which is one of the main activities of the local population. Approximately 170 people live in the village, faithfully maintaining Gurian traditions and hospitality. The tranquility here and the natural beauty create an excellent environment for relaxation.
