Chkhoushi — The Center of Megrelian Life on the Odishi Lowland

Chkhoushi is a village located in the Zugdidi municipality of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region. It is built at an elevation of 40 meters above sea level and represents one of the important settlements of the Odishi Lowland. The village is situated on the left bank of the Chkhoushi River, giving it a special geographical charm.

Chkhoushi is spread across the fertile Odishi Lowland, where the climate and soil create ideal conditions for agriculture. The local courtyards are immersed in greenery, where you will often find hazelnut plantations and cornfields, characteristic of this part of Samegrelo. The village is 16 kilometers from Zugdidi and is part of the Odishi community.
