Buleshi — High-Mountain Tranquility in Lower Svaneti

In the Racha-Lechkhumi and Lower Svaneti region, within the Lentekhi Municipality, in the Choluri community, lies the village of Buleshi. Built at an elevation of 1120 meters above sea level, on the southern slope of the Svaneti Range, this settlement is one of the region's highest and least populated villages. Buleshi charms visitors with its untouched nature, clean air, and the mystical environment characteristic of high-mountain Svaneti.

Geography and Nature

The village is located on the right bank of the Tskhenistskali River, 13 kilometers away from Lentekhi. The local landscape is rich in coniferous forests and alpine meadows. The climate is typical of the mountains—with cool summers and snowy winters. The surroundings of Buleshi create the best conditions for hiking, ecotourism, and those seeking complete disconnection from civilization. From here, beautiful views of the Svaneti ranges and the Tskhenistskali Valley open up.

History and Local Lifestyle

Buleshi was historically more densely populated, but over time the population moved to the lowlands. Today, only a few people live in the village. Despite the small population, the village maintains the resilience and hospitality characteristic of Svaneti. The daily life of the locals is closely tied to animal husbandry. A visit to Buleshi allows you to feel the true spirit of a Svan person, get acquainted with their ancient customs, and relax in complete tranquility, where only the sounds of nature can be heard.
