Stori River

Duration: Half day Free

The Stori River is a significant waterway in the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia. It originates in the Greater Caucasus mountains and flows southwards, carving out the spectacular Stori Gorge. This gorge is well-known to travelers as it forms part of the challenging but breathtakingly beautiful road that leads up to the Abano Pass and into the remote, historic region of Tusheti. The river is characterized by its fast, cold currents and the steep, forested slopes that rise dramatically on either side. The Stori valley is rich in biodiversity and offers stunning scenery, making the journey along its banks an adventure in itself before even reaching the high mountains of Tusheti.
