Sakeni River

Duration: Half day Free

The Sakeni River is a significant mountain river located in the Kodori Gorge, within the Abkhazia region of Georgia. It is one of the main tributaries that form the Kodori River. Originating high in the Caucasus Mountains, the Sakeni flows through a deep, rugged, and heavily forested gorge. The area is known for its extreme remoteness, pristine natural beauty, and challenging terrain. The river's fast-flowing, cold waters carve through the landscape, creating spectacular scenery that is largely untouched by human development. Due to the geopolitical situation and the ruggedness of the terrain, access to the Sakeni River is highly restricted and difficult, making it one of the most isolated and wild river valleys in the entire Caucasus region.
