Orbeliani Sulfur Bath, Tbilisi
The Orbeliani Sulfur Bath (often called Chreli Abano) is the most iconic building in Abanotubani, Tbilisi's historic bath district. Its facade of blue Persian-style tilework rises above the brick domes that characterize the quarter.
History and experience
Like neighboring baths, it draws geothermal water from the Mtkvari valley fault system at 37–47°C. Visitors come for traditional kisa scrubbing and steam rooms. The district sits below Narikala and near old Metekhi.
