Machara River

The Machara River is a waterway in the Abkhazia region of Georgia. It flows through the coastal area and empties into the Black Sea just south of the city of Sokhumi. The river is relatively short and its lower reaches are characterized by a slow flow through the coastal plain. The area around the river's mouth is known for its beaches and subtropical climate. The Machara River contributes to the local coastal ecosystem and provides a scenic element to the landscape south of Sokhumi.
