There is no marked trail to the summit. Routes start from the villages of Kvemo Ermani or Zemo Ermani and follow shepherd paths up the river gorge, then climb steeply to the ridge. Total ascent is about 900-1,100 m depending on start point. Terrain is a mix of alpine meadow, scree and rock. Navigation skills and good boots are required. The summit area is narrow with loose stones.

How to Get There & Road Conditions

Access is via the Gori – Java road to the Ermani valley. The last section from Edisa toward Kvemo Ermani is a rough gravel mountain road. A 4x4 is strongly recommended, especially after rain or in spring when the road is muddy and rutted. A standard sedan cannot reach the trailheads safely. In winter the road is blocked by snow. Park near the village and continue on foot.

Best season is late June to early September. Start early, carry warm layers, rain protection, 2-3 L water, food, map/GPS and first aid. There is no mobile signal on the upper slopes and no water above the meadows. Weather can turn cold and foggy within minutes. Leave no trace and respect local shepherds and livestock.
