Navigating to the Site

Access to Didikhevi requires planning, as it is situated in a high-elevation environment where weather conditions can shift rapidly. The most reliable time to visit is from mid-June to early October.

• Vehicle Access: The route into this sector of the Akhmeta region is rough and requires a 4x4 vehicle with high clearance. Standard cars are not suitable for the terrain encountered on the mountain tracks leading toward these elevations.
• Terrain: The area consists of sloping hillsides and mountain meadows. Wear sturdy hiking boots with good ankle support. The ground can be uneven and often slippery after rainfall.
• Preparation: Cell service is unreliable or non-existent in this area. Ensure you have offline maps, carry sufficient water, and check local weather forecasts before departing from the town of Akhmeta.
