Bakurianistskali River

Duration: 1-3 hours Free

The Bakurianistskali River is a picturesque mountain waterway located in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region of central Georgia. It is most famous for flowing directly through Bakuriani, one of Georgia's premier ski resorts and year-round mountain destinations. The river originates high in the Trialeti Range and is a tributary of the Gujaretistskali River. Fed by abundant winter snows and mountain springs, the Bakurianistskali features clear, cold water that rushes over a rocky bed. In the winter, the river is often partially frozen and surrounded by deep snow, creating a quintessential winter wonderland scene. During the warmer months, the riverbanks are lush and green, offering pleasant spots for walking and relaxing amidst the alpine scenery. The river is an integral part of the Bakuriani landscape, enhancing the natural beauty that draws thousands of visitors to the resort each year.
