Vani

Vani Municipality is synonymous with the wealth of antiquity, primarily the "Golden Colchis" archaeological discoveries tracing back to the 8th century BC. Its rural terrain is sustained by the Sulori and Kumuri rivers originating from the northern slopes of the Meskheti Range. The municipality is administratively broken into 21 communities containing 40 villages. A prominent secondary insight derived from the Vani settlement layout is the heavy reliance on thermal and mineral waters for rural economic sustainment. Villages like Sulori and Amagleba function not solely as agricultural centers but as balneological resorts, establishing a micro-economy distinct from the broader viticulture (Tsolikouri, Tsitska, and Aladasturi grapes) that dominates the surrounding plots. The village of Chqvishi is additionally noted for preserving the home museum of renowned Georgian poets Galaktion and Titsian Tabidze.
