Geography and Location

Gomarduli is a picturesque mountain village and resort located in the Shuakhevi Municipality of the Adjara region. Situated at an elevation of 1090 meters above sea level, it rests on the northern slopes of the watershed between the Achariskali and Vaniskali rivers. The village is approximately 8 kilometers from the town of Shuakhevi and 65 kilometers from the coastal city of Batumi, offering a perfect escape into the high-altitude wilderness of southwestern Georgia.

Climate and Winter Resort

The village is renowned for its long and snowy winters, with snow cover typically lasting from November through April. In mid-winter, the snow depth can reach between 2 and 3 meters, creating a magical alpine atmosphere. This climate has allowed Gomarduli to develop into a boutique winter resort. It features a 300-meter ski slope equipped with a ski lift, making it an excellent spot for beginners and families. Local facilities include ski equipment rentals and professional instructors.

Gomarduli remains a bastion of traditional Ajarian culture. The local lifestyle is deeply rooted in mountain farming and cattle breeding.
