Chvinta is a village located in the Akhaltsikhe municipality of the Samtskhe-Javakheti region. It belongs to the Eliatsminda community and is situated at an elevation of 1500 meters above sea level, on the southern slope of the Meskheti Range. The village is distinguished by its highland location, fresh air, and rich historical past.

History and Cultural Heritage

Chvinta is a historical settlement where important monuments of the region are preserved. Among them, the medieval "Jvris Tsikhe" (Cross Fortress) stands out, indicating the village's strategic importance. Also, an old monastery is located in the village territory, bearing witness to the spiritual significance of this place over the centuries. These monuments are authentic examples of Meskhetian architecture.
