The village is built on the southern slope of Mount Chikha, at an altitude of 520 meters above sea level. Its favorable location — just 6 kilometers from Sachkhere — makes it easily accessible. Chikha is surrounded by beautiful nature and fertile lands characteristic of Imereti.
Historical Heritage
Chikha has a rich past. In the 9th century, King George I of the Abkhazians established an Eristavi (Duke) residence here, indicating the great importance of the village. The remains of a 12th-century fortress and church are preserved in the village, which are interesting examples of medieval Georgian architecture.
