The reserve is located near the village of Gorelovka in the Ninotsminda Municipality. Access is relatively easy via the main Ninotsminda-Akhalkalaki road, but do keep in mind that public transport is scarce. Renting a 4x4 or traveling by private car is the most reliable way to navigate the plateau’s gravel roads. Plan for a stay of about 1–3 hours; this is enough time to walk along the designated observation paths and take in the silence of the high-altitude steppe. Remember that the weather in Javakheti can change in minutes—even in summer, a warm jacket and sturdy, waterproof boots are mandatory.
